Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity as a Scientific Director?

My client, a tier one medical communications agency, is looking to bring more people onto the team due to rapid growth - they grew by 30% in the past year. They are a full-service agency that partners with biotech and pharma companies globally.

They have business in all therapy areas (oncology, neurology, cardiovascular, etc.) across all types of deliverables (publications, medical affairs, promotional medical education, etc.). You will be able to choose the type of work you do as my client customizes roles around candidates.

Job Duties


  • You will have the opportunity to mentor and manage junior writers to support them on their career path
  • Facilitate medically relevant internal trainings and workshops
  • Execute personnel performance evaluation process, development plans, and resource/staffing plans
  • Direct medical writers on assigned projects

Content development

  • In-depth knowledge of assigned therapeutic area(s) with the ability to generate quality, audience appropriate content
  • Lead client interactions relating to scientific deliverables and assisting in new business pitches
  • Ensure scientific integrity and accuracy of all scientific communications and deliverables
  • Ability to get up-to-speed in a new therapy area (if applicable) with ease


  • An advanced degree or equivalent relevant experience in a life sciences or clinical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working at a medical communications agency
  • Expertise in multiple therapy areas
  • Proven experience in providing scientific leadership for an account (or accounts)
