Partnered with the top technology/real estate company out in Seattle, we are looking to on board a top Principal Machine Learning Engineer/Software Engineer who has worked in big data and can lead high performing teams.
The Principal Machine Learning Engineer will be a strong technical contributor and sit on site out in Seattle and provide technical leadership for other machine learning engineers, data scientists, and analysts as well as lead support for special projects. This is a full time opportunity to lead the way for a company that is globally loved and utilized by hundreds of millions of people on a daily basis.
You'll be working in big data - so prior experience working in big data is a definite must. You'll be designing and coding highly scalable, machine learning applications processing large volumes of data so prior experience working in: Python, R, and/or Scala is required. Also, must have experience working within AWS - specifically S3, EMR, RDS, and EC2 ideally.
At least 8 years of industry experience is necessary for this role, and that's on top of ideally a PHD in a quantitative field. This role sits very very senior within the company - and will be a huge driving force for products that go into production.
As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you'll get to collaborate with others in crafting your technical vision so you won't be alone - instead, you'll be on a small team of equally efficient engineers that you can bounce ideas off of. You'll follow agile processes with a focus on delivering production ready testable code in small iterations.
Lastly, you'll get to participate in the entire development life cycle from concept to release so we will be looking for prior experience with this! You'll also be responsible for participating in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution - and step in to offer mentorship and support with the junior members of your team.
This company has invested tremendously into the ML and AI space and will be looking for specific backgrounds coming from Operational Research, Finance, and Risk Management.
What will let you stand out:
Experience in Hadoop and Spark (this is a must for this role), as well as a strong background in software engineering is a must. HUGE plus if you have worked with: Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, Flume, Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Terraform, Redis, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Storm, Mesos, Python, and/or R.
